Namaya – Playwriting, Solo Performances,
and Children’s Theater

Namaya’s work has spanned playwriting, solo performances, and children’s theatre. He has performed as a solo storyteller and performer on five continents. Namaya and the B4 Peace team have presented peace-building and human-rights arts projects globally. In Chile, Namaya, in collaboration with Chilean dancers and performers, created Memoria.Hablar.Dignidad to commemorate the overthrow of the dictatorship and the celebration of heroes of resistance.

The children’s play “House of War: House of Glass,” a youth play, was presented in Zambia in the summer of 2025. The play focused on the impact of climate change in Zambia, war, and militarism.

Namaya has presented jazz poetry shows globally, and has written and produced “The Beatnik Café: A Musical Revue of the Jazz Beat Generation” that was presented in NYC, Boston, and New England, featuring Sheila Jordan.

Namaya’s theater work is rooted in his work as a performance poet and storyteller.
“I did not set out to be a ‘theatre person,’ it kind of happened, but I always felt at home on the stage, as a performer, and creator of theater.”
